I consider myself a life-long learner. Some people go to high school, and others continue on with college, but at that point, they figure their learning is done. Of course, there is always on-the-job learning, whatever kind of career you settle on. Maybe mostly because I'm a writer, I feel like my learning is continuous, non-stop, a life-long pursuit.

Depending on what I choose to write about, there is often at least a certain amount of research to be done. Sometimes it is something as simple as when a particular term came about, other times, like recently, who were the people who went after train robbers in the late 1800s (they were train police). Which means, my learning never ends. Which is perfect for a person who sees themselves as life-long learners.

Some people stay in college getting one degree after another. Those are my kind of people! There is so much to learn about in this world, I wonder how you could finish college, I won't even add high school into this mix because, come on, you really do know next to nothing when you get out of high school. And of course, after college, whatever your field of study was, you may know quite a bit about your field of study. But what about the rest of life? There is so much to learn in this world.

The best decision I ever made was not only to go to college (thank you, Marty!) but also to get a Liberal Arts degree. The world opened wide for me.
